ARMY WELL - 8 Steps to Total Wellness

This training is for active military, reservist or retired military who desire total wellness. Be strong mentally and physically. 

Our dedicated servicemen encounter the most severe challenges. We want them to be strong and resilient. Being totally well requires several com-ponents. It is a lifestyle commitment and in this training you will get steps needed to total wellness. Each Acronym of ARMY WELL stands for a well-ness behavior you must incorporate into your lifestyle.

  • Perform proper breathing to improve mental stamina

  • Achieve a more sound sleep

  • Plan tasty meals for better health

  • Identify simple ways to make healthier choices

  • Write your path to a purposeful life

  • Calculate water needed for your body size and activity level

  • Identify factors that prolong life

  • Develop a personal fitness plan that suits your lifestyle

  • Identify concrete ways to manage stress

 

Seminar Outline

Step One - Air and Health

Fresh air and deep breathing can do more for your health than most realize. Tiredness and lack of energy can be remedied by doing simple exer-cises. Soldiers will be taught how and even when to do these exercises to improve their vitality.

Step Two - Rest and Health

Quality sleep is fundamental to superior performance. When you sleep and how you sleep affects your physical and mental functioning. It is important to know how your body revitalizes through sleep even when your get just a few hours.

Step Three - Meal Planning

Planning meals saves money and time. Proper meal planning and food selection help you to maintain a healthy body weight. According to a study utilizing data on health behaviors among military personnel, the U.S. military is experiencing a trend toward being overweight not explained by a decrease in physical activity. Learn the basics of meal planning for better health and performance.

Step Four - Yield

It's all about what works for your body to improve your immune system and ultimate productivity. The big picture includes what does not work for your body and interferes with your mental functioning and physical performance. In this session, you will receive firsthand information on becoming a stronger person.

Step Five - Water Needs

Every system in your body depends on water. It flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to cells, lubricates joints, and regulates body tem-perature. Insufficient water intake can lead to mild dehydration and drain your energy. Servicemen need the basics on their water needs and how to calculate how much needed during different situations.

Step Six - Exercise

To enhance performance and avoid injury, soldiers need to know what nutrients are especially needed to fuel them. Don't waste time searching the Internet and oftentimes getting bogus information; we will teach you what your body needs and simple food choices to select to improve your physical abilities.

Step Seven - Longevity

We want our servicemen to continue to serve post active duty. In this training, you will get the keys to longevity. It is a carefully outlined plan that will be taught.

Step Eight - Leisure

Incorporating this step can restore and rejuvenate your body. It must be planned regularly to get the most benefit. We will discuss how you can ac-complish this even in small segments of time.

Full day seminar, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., also customized seminars for 1/2 day or a part of an entire program is available.
