MARINE - 6 Steps to Total Wellensss

There are 6 steps to make moving into the fit lane. Total wellness requires persistent effort and these basic steps. In this training each step will be taught to help our servicemen to live long, productive lives. Regardless of which phase (active, reserve, transitioning, retired) in the military you are, we want you to be strong and resilient.Each acronym of MARINE stands for a behavior needed to acquire total wellness.

  • Perform proper breathing to improve mental stamina

  • Achieve a more sound sleep to rejuvenate your body

  • Choose food for health and increased productivity

  • Write your path to a purposeful life

  • Achieve mental clarity to make decisions during challenging times

  • Dealing with negative emotions

  • Building your personal foundation

  • Increased awareness of substance abuse and management

  • Identify concrete ways to manage stress

  • Improve your fit factor

 

Seminar Outline

Step One: Meal Planning

Planning meals saves money and time. Proper meal planning and food selection help you to maintain a healthy body weight. According to a study utilizing data on health behaviors among military personnel, the U.S. military is experiencing a trend toward being overweight not explained by a decrease in physical activity. Learn the basics of meal planning for better health and performance. 

Step Two: Air and Health

Fresh air and deep breathing can do more for your health than most realize. Tiredness and lack of energy can be remedied by doing simple exercises. Soldiers will be taught when and how to do these exercises to improve their vitality.The importance of how deep breathing can decrease stress, increase mental clarity and improve overall sense of well-being will be discussed. 

Step Three: Rest and Health

Our over stimulated society with the Internet, social networking, sports, and disturbing news can all interfere with our getting sound rest. Soldiers will learn how and when to get quality sleep that will improve their immune system which is needed for optimal health.

Step Four: Inventory

The keys to success start with specific direction backed by actions. In this segment soldiers will write short and long-term goals and objectives. These goals will help them better manage routine tasks and achieve their targeted career path.

Just like spring cleaning is necessary, taking self-inventory requires attention. Don't avoid what is crucial for progress and living a purposeful life. Acquire the tactics taught in this training to do what successful businessman do to get ahead. In addition, the segment "dark room cleaning" is covered to help soldiers deal with the weights of negativity and its impact on performance along with strengthening their core persona.

Step Five: Nutrition

In this segment, soldiers will receive basic nutrition information to help them plan better food choices and be more equipped to navigate through false data on health and diet. 

Step Six: Exercise

To enhance performance and avoid injury, soldiers need to know what nutrients are especially needed to fuel them. Don't waste time searching the Internet and oftentimes getting bogus information; we will teach you what your body needs and simple food choices to select to improve your physical abilities.
